Human–Animal Connection

Where connection heals.

Supporting emotional wellbeing through meaningful interaction between humans and animals.

Cherie alias Doctor Dog

Connection that makes a difference

Animals have a unique way of reaching people — without expectations, without judgement.
Through their presence, they can create moments of calm, trust and emotional connection.

Doctor Dog — Animal Assisted Interventions by Claudia Nagyivan

Doctor Dog

A gentle approach to emotional wellbeing through human–animal connection.

Animal Assisted Interventions (AAI)

I develop and offer Animal Assisted Interventions designed to support emotional wellbeing in healthcare and social settings.

My work focuses on creating safe, respectful and meaningful interactions that can help reduce stress, support emotional expression and bring moments of connection into everyday life.

“Doctor Dog” is my concept for Animal Assisted Interventions — creating moments of calm, trust and connection in healthcare and social environments.

Where we work

Animal Assisted Interventions can take place in a variety of professional settings, including:

• Hospitals and clinical environments
• Geriatric care and nursing homes
• Psychotherapy and mental health settings
• Rehabilitation and recovery centres
• Palliative care
• Educational and social institutions
• Individual sessions

Each setting requires a tailored approach, always prioritising safety, ethical standards and emotional wellbeing.

My approach

My work is guided by presence, sensitivity and deep respect — both for people and for animals.

Each interaction is carefully adapted to the individual situation, always prioritising wellbeing, safety and genuine connection.

I am a certified Animal Assisted Interventions (IAA) practitioner, trained in Barcelona (CECTAC), combining professional knowledge with an intuitive, human-centred approach.

My work follows internationally recognised IAHAIO guidelines for Animal Assisted Interventions.

Clinical programm

Doctor Dog is based on a structured Animal Assisted Activities program developed for healthcare environments.

The concept supports emotional wellbeing, reduces stress and creates moments of connection for patients, families and healthcare professionals.

The program was originally developed under the name “Patas en Bata Blanca” ("Paws in White Coats"), a project focused on dog-assisted activities in healthcare settings.

It is grounded in professional training in Animal Assisted Interventions (CECTAC, Barcelona) and combines practical experience with a clear methodological framework.

Let´s talk

If you are a healthcare professional or institution interested in Animal Assisted Interventions, I would be happy to share more details about the programme and how it can be adapted to your setting.

ANIMAL ASSISTED INTERVENTIONS (AAI)

I offer Animal Assisted Interventions (AAI) in Mallorca and internationally, supporting emotional wellbeing through human–animal connection.

These interventions can take place in hospitals, care homes, therapeutic environments and community settings.

My work combines a background in communication, education and the arts with a deep focus on emotional connection and animal wellbeing.

The aim is to create meaningful, calm and supportive experiences that enhance quality of life and emotional balance.

Animal Assisted Interventions are increasingly recognised as a valuable support in healthcare and social contexts, helping to reduce stress, encourage interaction and bring moments of comfort and presence.
